Class Description:

In this 6 week course, you will learn the theories and techniques of classical painting. You will learn about hues, values and composition, and practice how to mix paint on an insta-wet palette and how to apply the paint on canvas.

Additionally, you'll gain confidence on how to approach your painting project with a well thought-out plan: you will learn how to base a painting from a photo reference with the use of basic lines and shapes, you' ll start with an underpainting, understanding why it’s important, and finish up you piece through the application of glazes.

At the end of the 6 weeks, each of your finished painting will be showcased in a group art exhibit at the Homer Center of the Arts.
